These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mawla mobile application and website (mawla.app). By using our app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Mawla, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all services provided through the app and website.

2. Service Description

Mawla is a mobile application providing Islamic education and worship support. Features include:

  • Holy Quran reader (Arabic text, translation, recitation)
  • Quran practice and learning mode
  • Location-based prayer times with notifications
  • Qibla compass
  • Nearby mosques and halal places
  • Dua collection and 99 Names of Allah
  • Hijri calendar and Islamic dates
  • Masjid al-Haram live stream
  • Dhikr counter (digital tasbih)
  • Repentance tracking and reminders
  • AI-powered voice imam assistant
  • Push notifications (prayer, verse, Friday, Ramadan)

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of Mawla, you must create an account. When creating an account:

  • You must provide a valid email address.
  • You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
  • You are responsible for the security of your account. Do not share your password with others.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Free and Paid Services

Mawla offers services in two tiers:

  • Free Plan: Quran reader, prayer times, Qibla compass, duas, dhikr counter, calendar, live stream, repentance tracking, and other core features are completely free. Registered users receive 3 minutes of free AI voice chat.
  • Premium Plan ($5.99/month): Unlimited AI Imam voice chat access. Premium subscription is available through in-app purchase on the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Prices may vary by region.

5. Subscription Terms

  • Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.
  • Cancellation is done through your app store settings (iOS: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions; Android: Google Play > Subscriptions).
  • After cancellation, access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • No partial refunds are provided. Refund requests must be processed through Apple or Google.

6. Acceptable Use

When using Mawla, you agree to the following rules:

  • Use the app respectfully and for its intended purpose.
  • Do not misuse the AI assistant or attempt to extract misleading or harmful content.
  • Do not engage in harassment, abuse, or any harmful actions toward other users or the system.
  • Do not attempt to bypass security measures or reverse-engineer the application.
  • Do not use the app for illegal purposes.

Violation of these rules may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account.

7. AI Assistant Disclaimer

Mawla's AI Imam feature is for educational and learning purposes only. Please note the following:

  • The AI assistant does not replace qualified scholars or fatwa authorities.
  • Responses may not always be complete or accurate.
  • For matters requiring definitive religious rulings, we recommend consulting qualified scholars.
  • AI responses are general in nature and intended for informational and reminder purposes.

8. Intellectual Property

  • The design, code, branding, and original content of Mawla belong to Mawla.
  • The text of the Holy Quran is in the public domain and is not subject to copyright.
  • User-generated content (dua notes, worship logs, etc.) remains the property of the user.
  • You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the application without permission.

9. Account Deletion

You may request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data. Account deletion can be requested through:

Your request will be processed within 30 days. The following data categories will be permanently deleted:

  • Profile and account information
  • Subscription history
  • Worship logs (prayer, dhikr, repentance)
  • App settings and preferences
  • Push notification tokens
  • Usage logs

10. Limitation of Liability

Mawla provides its services "as is". We make no warranties regarding:

  • The absolute accuracy or completeness of religious guidance
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the service
  • Continuity of third-party services (maps, live stream, etc.)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mawla shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or punitive damages arising from the use of the application.

11. Changes to Terms

These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time. When significant changes are made, we will notify you through an in-app notification. Your continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
